The Peru Two is the collective name of Michaella McCollum Connolly from Dungannon, Northern Ireland and Melissa Reid from Glasgow, Scotland, both 20, who were arrested on 6 August 2013 for drug smuggling at Lima Airport in Peru, after their luggage was found to contain 11 kg of cocaine. They claimed they had been forced to carry the drugs by an armed gang. They subsequently pleaded guilty to drug smuggling, in order to receive a lighter sentence than the maximum sentence of 15 years that Peruvian law allowed for such crimes. On 17 December 2013, the pair were sentenced to 6 years and eight months in prison. The Peru Two hope to be transferred to their respective countries to serve the remainder of their sentences. The duo have received extensive press in the UK and also around the world since their arrest. The Peru Two have taken up beauty therapy in a bid to become hair stylists in the Ancon 2 prison. The position is considered coveted and significantly increases their chances of early parole. The pair were featured on the Channel 4 documentary ''Brits Behind Bars: Cocaine Smugglers'', which aired on 10/10/2015. The show detailed how drug mules are groomed. ==References== 〔 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Peru Two」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
